Pak Express Transport owner Ameer Nasir, 25, of Connecticut, was sentenced on Oct. 7 to 24 months in prison and 3 years of supervised release for defrauding Amazon of more than $3.5 million, and ordered to pay $3,547,090.93 in restitution, according to CDLLife on Oct. 7.

Nasir pleaded guilty to wire fraud in March 2026 after his arrest on May 8, 2025. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Connecticut, he registered 23 trucking businesses with Amazon Logistics — his own company plus others "created under false names or by fraudulently using the names and identifying information of other trucking or transportation companies without the knowledge of the operators."

Between December 2019 and February 2021, Nasir used the companies to obtain more than 1,000 transportation assignments from Amazon Logistics, the Amazon subsidiary that contracts with carriers to move empty and loaded trailers between cities, warehouses, and fulfillment centers. Authorities say he manipulated information in Amazon's systems to make it appear trailer movements had been completed when they had not, then submitted false invoices for the phantom moves — which Amazon paid.

Nasir must report to prison on Nov. 12, 2026, and remains released on a $300,000 bond until then. The case was investigated by the FBI with assistance from Amazon.
